CCOP visit to UNESCAP

        CCOP Director Chun, Mr Niran and Dr Murao visited UNESCAP for a courtesy call to the new Director of the Environment and Sustainable Division Development Mr Thampi; to explain CASM to his staff, and to exchange opinion for the future cooperation.

      During the talk with staff, a recommendation by the UNESCAP Committee on Managing Globalization (Second Session) in  October 2005 was mentioned: ESCAP is expected to develop cooperation with CCOP and CASM in terms of SPM (strategic planning and management) of natural resources.

      It was generally agreed that the Division and CCOP will seek ways of cooperation for the environmental management and sustainable development in Asia.
